Highlands - Glenmore |
Glenmore Caravan and Camping Park is situated on the unclassified road which leads from Aviemore to the Cairgorm ski slopes. You are assured a warm welcome and there is plenty in the surrounding area for the whole family to do, including pony trekking, 4x4 driving, clay pigeon shooting, walking, climbing, ski-ing, swimming, curling, or visiting the many local attractions including the Speyside distilleries. The park is well laid out and even has a special area for those who wish to stay under the trees in the Pinewood. The holiday season at Glenmore lasts throughout the year and consequently the Park caters for winter visitors with about fifteen caravans taking advantage of the winter seasonal rate. Many pitches have electrical hook ups, although at present there is no similar drainage facility. All except those in the Pinewood area are within a short walk of the two toilet blocks. Scotland's only reindeer herd lives on the nearby northern slopes of the Cairngorm Mountains and their visitor centre is less than five minutes walk from the entrance to the caravan park. Prices vary according to the season but as a guide the rate for four persons per night ranges from £7.70 to £9.70, with a £2.20 supplement for electrical hookup. |
